Getting my Technician Ham Radio License

Quick post today, just an update that I passed my Technician-level ham radio licensing exam and will soon be able to operate ham radio! I’ve got a Baofeng radio at home; My parents have kindly agreed to bring it up to Cornell next week when they come and visit. Hopefully I will get my callsign by then so I can start making contacts around Cornell and Ithaca.

Big thanks to W2CXM, the Cornell Amateur Radio Club for providing free examinations and licenses, as well as for their support in helping me study/prepare. They have a really cool space up on Barton Hall and have some great stuff planned for this semester; I would highly recommend any Cornell student with even a marginal interest in radio/EE to come to a meeting!
